A couple months ago I started looking on Youtube for more videos pertaining to operating and developing your photography business. There are tons of good videos online about that topic, but I found many were just too short. You'd find one or two topics covered and that was it.
As I looked some more I found theses interesting videos from Creativelive. They looked like workshops and some are a couple hours long. I was intrigued to see what they spoke about. I found that some world re-known photographers taught live workshops where about six lucky photographers were selected to attend.
The big plus is that an online audience would be able to watch as well, live, at the same time.
All kinds of topics were discussed from improving your photography, setting up your business, posing, lighting, pricing, marketing, balancing your work and home life, editing, and gaining confidence.
I was amazed at how many videos they had and how truly informative and inspiring they were.
To be honest, before this site was created the only way to hear some of these photographers speak was to enroll in one of their workshops or attend a national photographer's convention. None of those are cheap, although well worth it.
With creativelive you can learn at your own pace. And, only the topics that are most important to you.
The live workshops last three days where the 6 audience members work and learn together with the host. The online version is only a snapshot of each day.
If you don't happen to catch the live feeds and/or are interested in everything they covered you can purchase the full three day workshop from their website. This means you have full access to the workshop at home!
- I am not sponsored by creativelive.com in any way, but have found it extremely useful. It really puts everything into perspective and you get to learn from the best.
