Sorry for the delay here. Upon my return to Massachusetts I found myself quite busy catching up on 'real life'.
The California trip wasn't over still though. After the wedding day I was able to enjoy some more time in wonderful California. We decided to venture out to Venice Beach, where Michael Douglas famously ended up in the movie Falling Down. To this day it is one of my favorite movies.
Of course we had to head down to the famous pier.
I wanted to share a few photos from that area as well as some from The Getty Villa which we visited after.
And this is the end of the pier.
As we walked down the boardwalk we found this. THE WORLD'S SMALLEST FRONT YARD!
From there we drove up the coast line a little and arrived at The Getty Villa. This place was superb. A wealthy art collector built this villa to resemble the old country and over time amassed a very impressive collection. Part of his estate was later converted into a museum.
I thought this angle would be interesting.
We also walked around the museum. There were a lot of really nice pieces there.
We even ate our lunch there. The meals were very good.
And as you can see they had plenty of seats outside as well.
Walking under this area I was treated by this view. Really nice!
The Villa was so nice with several outdoor gardens, the museum and the nice courtyards. Also, the food was great as well. So we continued to walk around, laugh and enjoy the California sun.
