I'm starting this series to present a photo that I've taken that I'd like to share.
Today's photo is super simple. Its just a photo of my small lunch. Yes, sounds boring. But, was tasty!
I used natural light from a window and used my X-E2 with the 35mm 1.4 lens. I am constantly amazed at how it does at high iso and that I can see exactly how the photo will look in the viewfinder. Does that mean you will get perfect shots 100% of the time? Not really, but you are sure to tell if something is way too dark or way too bright.
This was taken at ISO 1000 35mm F1.4 1/125, hand held, no flash
What really amazes me from this photo is that I even took it! With my other DSLRs I would maybe take a few photos sort of like this, but then I'd have to figure out what lighting, proper white balance and possibly a tripod to get a similar look.
The X-E2 honestly calls you to pick it up and use it. Its been said over and over in other blog posts and it really does. This is straight out of camera. I leveled it slightly and added a touch of sharpness, but that's it. I didn't touch the white balance at all. That is superb! And because of the nifty viewfinder I knew it was pretty much spot on when I took it.
The new Fuji gear has honestly re-ignited my "I wonder how a photo of this will look like" mentality again. It honestly reminds me of when I picked up my first DSLR. And that, is a great feeling.
