I ended up with some free time earlier today so I decided to venture out someplace I'd never been to before. I looked on some travel websites as well as local tourism sites and found a neat place in Framingham. I actually used to work about 10 minutes from Eastleigh Farm. It's located between Rt 20 and Rt 9 in Framingham.
Everyone was really nice and it had a family owned business vibe. They even let me visit with the cows during their feeding time. They produce raw milk, cheeses, locally produced ice cream (which I tried and it was so good!), yogurt, chocolate milk and many other seasonal items.
It is definitely worth a visit!
As I was about to enter I looked up and saw...
When you enter you will see this on the right.
And you will see this on the left.
And you enter to the common area, shop and ice cream area. I showed up just before lunch time, but that didn't stop me from ordering some ice cream.
Next I went to visit the cows who were busy eating.
It so happened that this was also when they'd be milking the cows. So they went around and wiped down the cow's udders before attaching the milking machine to them.
These are such pretty animals and quite honestly I don't think I've ever been this close to a cow before. Most of them were busy eating, but they'd look at me from time to time.
I didn't want to bother them too much while they were eating and giving milk so I thanked the employees for letting me watch and I headed back outside. This near the outside of that building. As you can see there were basically clear blue skies all day.
This is the building across the lot.
And I headed back in one more time to enjoy some ice cream. Peach in sugar cone. So good!!
I highly recommend you stop and visit Eastleigh Farm. Come for the ice cream, stay for the experience.
