Wedding are always filled with a lot of emotions. As a photographer I always gravitate to expression and happiness. Weddings really bring out the best in people and the best thing is that its all natural and I'm lucky enough to be there to capture it. And, then there are touching moments as well that are really meaningful for those present.
Last year I did a wedding at August Moon in Western MA. It was a fantastic wedding held outdoors and the weather was just beautiful. The couple and their families were a blast to work with and it was a lot of fun from start to finish. Its always good to see such a united group of people.
During the speeches I witnessed something out of the ordinary. The groom's best man was unable to attend the wedding and they had set it up so he would Skype in via an iPad to give his speech. Somehow that part of it didn't work as anticipated so instead another member of the wedding party read out the speech the best man had written.
As I witnessed this I knew this was a very special moment and I could only imagine not having your best man present. This sequence of photos to me showed that underneath all the fun and candidness surrounding the day it was also a very serious and meaningful day.
