These posts are always fun. I often find clients or other photographers curious to know what I work with. I will have to admit that it is all a matter of preference and style. Some photographers will tell you there is nothing better than a great zoom lens while others may tell you a good prime lens can't be beaten.
In the past few years I have tried both zooms and prime lenses and although you can capture nearly identical images with each they do teach you good and bad habits.
I now only use prime lenses and I feel like it has benefited me in a way that allows me to explore more options. I can pre-visualize framing, angles and distances better. I have a good idea of what I will see when I bring the camera to my eye.
But, everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Don't let any photographer tell you what equipment to use. As you take more photos you will see what suits your needs.
