Earlier today I headed out to downtown Worcester again to get some more photos. My friend David Salo of David Salo Photography decided to come along. He recently picked up a Fuji camera as well and it had also re-ignited his need for photo walks. He lives in the Canton, MA area so he doesn't get out to Worcester too much. I was happy to show him around the downtown area. At times it got windy and even rainy, but it was a lot of fun walking around. He was using a longer lens while I was sticking to slightly wider angles.
But, for me, I wanted to capture slightly different photos to before. Luckily downtown is full of people and many interesting buildings.
I arrived a little earlier and was able to get some great shots of these window washers.
This is a different angle and you can really see how dramatic the sky is as well.
This is a photo of the courtyard area behind city hall.
This is the backend of the DCU center.
I really enjoy looking for patterns or textures so when I came upon this wall I knew I needed to find a way to take photo of it. If you've wandered around Worcester you probably recognize this wall. Its on the parking lot side of the Palladium.
At this point it started raining pretty good so we ducked under the Palladium veranda. So I got this photo of the adjoining cafe sign.
Further down the street I looked back and got this photo of main st and David getting a shot.
Across the street from the first photo is this really nice building. So nice to see trees in bloom! The sky was full of clouds so I decided on making this one black and white.
I really really enjoy finding good negative space.
This scene caught my attention.
This photo was taken at the TD Bank building in the underpass area.
This is probably my favorite street photo of the day.
Here you can see that a lot of the clouds had started to roll away.
The common theme of the day was reflections. I didn't get as many as David did, but all the reflections we found in a three block radius were amazing.
This is further down main street. As you can see the clouds came back!
As we headed back we passed this building.
I saw this couple about to cross the street with their dog. So I waited and got a nice shot of them.
We ended where we started in front of that tall building with the window washers. This is the Santander bank in front of it with all its windows as well. You can see the business across the street in the reflection.
It was a really good day walking around downtown Worcester. I'm already trying to plan where I'll be heading to for next week's photo walk.
