Before I ever picked up a camera to take photos of clients I was always intrigued by the world around me. I would go out and take photos of anything and sometimes the closer I could get the better. And, its a practice that I continue today as it really helps me to stay focused.
So, earlier today, I headed out with my macro lens to see what I'd find. These are a few samples.

Earlier today I headed out towards New Bedford for a photo session, but I stopped in East Providence on my way. It was only a couple days ago that I heard about the rain storms scheduled for today, but we were not deterred. We picked out an indoor location to meet in the early afternoon. I decided to stop in Providence along the way (mainly to find a Del's location!). These are lemonade and crushed ice beverages that are more easily found in Providence than in MA. Back when i used to work in that area I'd treat myself to a Del's, but recently I've just been craving one. So, I made my journey and stopped a few places along the way. I would not let the rain stop me! And, I found one of their locations in East Prov! Mmm, tasty. So I found a small park along the water and with camera in one hand and the Del's in the other the rain didn't phase me one bit. This next photo is looking back towards Providence. This small park runs alongside part of the freeway as you enter the Easter Side of Providence on 195. This is another perspective. This next photo is of a tall power line/tower reflecting in the water. As the rain started to pick up I found the abstract interesting. And yes, the clouds were that grey I did not convert the image to black and white. After finishing my Del's I decided to head to New Bedford to get ready for the photo session. Halfway there it really started to downpour. This photo is of my windshield once I turned the car off waiting for a break so I could run and get my umbrella from my trunk.
That is a firetruck in front of me who had shown up as a nearby building's fire alarm had been triggered. I didn't hear anything more about it so I'm sure everyone was ok. For the next hr or so it rained and rained some more and New Bedford was on alert for numerous flood warnings. But, the photo session went on ended with some fun in the rain. Stay tuned for a sneak peek very soon!! I'm changing my photo of the week segment to a details of the day title. I find it so hard to pick just one image for the week as I love all the small details as well. One of my favorite places to visit it the Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA.
Earlier today I ventured out as I've been super busy lately and haven't had time to take photos for me. I hope you enjoy a few details of the day. |
