A wedding day is exciting to everyone involved. Of course the bride and the groom are super nervous, happy, excited and full of emotions on the day of, but we sometimes forget about the parents. They have watched their child grow up, witnessed all their milestones and are now ready to take that big step forward.
I remember this wedding from a few years ago. Everyone was all dressed and ready to go. We were getting ready for the formal photos and while some were chatting, others were making sure they looked good. We were standing on a small grassy field and figuring out the exact sequence of photos to be taken. I then noticed the groom and his mom talking. It only took a moment to see how proud she was of her son and while he joked around with her a little she couldn't help but tear up.
Being able to witness moments like these are why I'm a wedding photographer.
Looking back at 2014 I recall several great moments, but one that really stands out to me is witnessing my good friend Eric get married.
We met playing soccer back in the day and remained friends ever since. . So when I heard he was getting married I was thrilled. Then, I was asked to photograph the wedding and I found out it would be in California. I'm ready!!
It was like a best case scenario and I was thrilled. It was so great seeing his parents and friends and getting to explore a part of California I'd never been to before.
The wedding was great and it was clear to me they were a perfect match. Of course I'm very proud of my friend and really happy for the two of them..
You guys are the best!!
Yesterday morning I was running out of my house and I saw a lone leaf on one of my bushes. With the light rain falling I knew I had to go and grab my camera and capture this 'hint of Fall'. The Fall is so pretty in New England. I'll be sure to share a few photos in the upcoming weeks of how awesome it really is.
There are so many fun moments throughout the wedding day and quite honestly that's why I love to photograph them.
At a recent wedding they had some great speeches that brought out laughter, smiles, tears and a lot of hugs. I always make sure to get a variety of photos during the speeches as these are all very personal moments that remind me just how important the day is to the couple and their friends. And to be honest, makes me truly honored to be able to be a part of it.
