This past week I packed my bags to make my journey to California. I've been to San Francisco and San Diego before, but this time I was headed to San Luis Obispo for my friend's wedding. There really isn't much better as a photographer to photograph one of your really close friend's wedding. I was excited for the trip as well because these were all new places to me.
So I departed from Boston and headed across the continent. I had a connection flight in San Francisco, but there was a long lay over there. So, I decided to head into San Francisco and explore a little. I jumped on the BART and headed downtown.
I got off near market street and decided to make my way towards Fisherman's Wharf which I had been to as a kid.
As I was walking down Market street I saw this pigeon walking towards me. It didn't even blink as I lifted the camera to my eye.
I continued walking along looking all around. To me the weather was fantastic while most people were wearing light jackets or long sleeve shirts. It was a little overcast at this time as well.
And although I wasn't cold I was already feeling very sleepy from my over night flight so I stopped to get a pick me up.
Then I continued on .
Good idea! Enjoying some lunch outside.
I finally made it Fisherma's Wharf.
This area was very busy with a lot of families, tourists and even school kids enjoying the sites.
And what's that off in the distance?
This one is looking back towards the city.
This is one of the outdoor displays they had along the walk way.
After some more walking around I realized A) just how tired I was and B) just how far I had walked from the station. So, I stopped to eat some sushi and then made my way back.
I liked this scene because of the contrast in light, but I'm not sure if it turned out the way I envisioned it. Either way, it has its own mood.
So I got back on the BART and made my way back to the airport.
Back at the airport I refueled and literally recharged my batteries.
Next stop San Luis Obispo!
