Earlier today I decided to continue on my Worcester photo walk. I decided to head out to the Worcester Art Museum. I've been there several times in the last few years and I even took a drawing class there when I was younger. Its located right off the highway on Salisbury St. They have a nice restaurant, where I ate today, and a wonderful staff. Once again being a cold day it was nice to spend some time taking photos indoors.
When you walk in you'll find some tables to your right as you can see from this photo. You can sit down and there is a coffee stand setup there where you can grab some breakfast if you like.
I arrived a tad early so grabbed some tea and a lemon and poppy seed muffin. Ha! Don't think I've ever had a muffin in back to back days. In any case it was nice and fresh.
Looking the other way you can see some couches and other places to sit and relax.
If you look straight ahead through the windows you'll see the restaurant.
So I pay up and am ready to go exploring. I started at the top floor and then worked my way down.
This blue painting/collage really stood out to me.
After walking around some more I made it to the main entrance area. The architecture in this room is amazing. You can easily spend 20 minutes just walking around this room.
This is a photo of the stone mosaic on the floor. As you can see its very large.
Opposite these stair cases there was a stone mosaic on the wall I found interesting.
I continued to walk a little further on the lower level.
At this point I was starting to get pretty hungry so headed over to the restaurant. I've never eaten there before, so figured why not. I ordered the pulled pork wrap. It was delicious! It had rice, beans, onions and a nice sauce as well. On the back side there you can see a small Farfalle salad. It was really good.
It was a very nice visit topped off with a nice meal. Some of it had changed since the last time I had visited while other things were just how I remembered. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the Worcester area.
