As my fourth wedding season goes under way it had me thinking about the overall experience. I started my journey by doing some shadowing and second shooting. I read a lot of articles online and found some amazing photographers. I found that there are so many styles out there and different ways of telling the story of the wedding day.
It was great to see that you could be yourself in the world of photography. Although its easy to want to be like someone you admire, or try out shots you've seen, it is totally up to you how you present yourself.
So in the past couple years I've done some second shooting and a lot of primary shooting. I learned so much and continued to work on my "style".
Photography has been so much fun, but wedding photography has just been so rewarding. I have met so many great people, visited wonderful places and have been able to share in all the fun of a very special day. At first it was all about getting the right photos, but later it was about feeling the day.
I've watched families come together. I've heard some deep and hilarious toasts and seen people dancing furiously. I've listened to bands, DJs and some great MCs. I've gotten to visit several states and shot in a variety of climates. And I've laughed with the wedding party.
Weddings are so special and leave me with such a great feeling. I'm honored to be a wedding photographer and can't wait to continue.
I honestly feel that as the wedding photographer I get the best seat in the house.
